Seed Saving & Swap at Phoenix Garden
A relaxed afternoon in one of central London's hidden community gardens — learn to save seeds, plan your autumn planting, and meet other growers from across the city.
Whether you're a windowsill herb farmer or an allotment veteran, this is a friendly afternoon for swapping seeds, sharing tips, and learning the simple craft of saving seed from your own plants.
Activities through the afternoon
- Seed saving demo (2pm–3pm) — how to collect, dry, store and label seeds from your garden or balcony. Bring your own seeds to swap afterwards.
- Autumn planting planner (3pm–4pm) — what to sow in July and August for autumn and winter harvests. Take home a printed planner sheet.
- Garden tour (4pm–4:30pm) — see Phoenix Garden's community growing space.
- Seed swap & tea (all afternoon) — bring seeds, take seeds. Cake provided.
What to bring (all optional)
- Any seeds you've saved — even if you're not sure they'll work
- A notebook if you like to take notes
- A mug for tea (we have spares)
Transition groups: we have space for two more stalls — please contact us by 27 June.
